SAMPLE CASE CALCULTOR USED
- Basic Pay as on 31.12.2016: ₹13,600
- Stagnation Increments as on 31.12.2016: ₹410
- Fitment Benefit: 5%
1. Initial Pay Fixation on 01.01.2017
The revised Basic Pay is calculated using the fitment method outlined in the agreement. The formula combines the old basic pay, existing stagnation increments, IDA, and the fitment benefit.
- Step 1: Basic Pay + Stagnation Increments
- ₹13,600 + ₹410 = ₹14,010
- Step 2: Add Industrial Dearness Allowance (IDA)
- The IDA applicable is 119.5%.
- ₹14,010 x (1 + 1.195) = ₹14,010 x 2.195 = ₹30,751.95
- Step 3: Add 5% Fitment Benefit
- ₹30,751.95 x (1 + 0.05) = ₹30,751.95 x 1.05 = ₹32,289.55
- Step 4: Round Off to the Next ₹10
- As per the agreement, the final amount is rounded up to the next multiple of ₹10.

How to Calculate Your New Pay (The BSNL PRC Calculator for Non-Executive Method)
To figure out your new Basic Pay, you can use the following “fitment method.” This step-by-step table acts as a simple calculator.
| Step | Action | Details |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Start with Old Basic Pay | Take your Basic Pay as it was on December 31, 2016. |
| 2 | Add Dearness Allowance | Add the Industrial Dearness Allowance (IDA), which was 119.5%. |
| 3 | Add Fitment Benefit | Add the “Fitment” amount, which will be at par with what is given to Executives. |
| 4 | Get the Total | Add the amounts from Steps 1, 2, and 3 together. |
| 5 | Round Up | Round the final total up to the next higher ₹10. This is your new Basic Pay. |
After this calculation, the Dearness Allowance (DA) on your new pay will become zero as of January 1, 2017.

- Annual Increment: You will get a yearly raise of 3% of your new revised basic pay.
- On Promotion: When you get a promotion, you will be granted one extra increment of 3% on your existing basic pay before your pay is fixed in the higher scale.
- Stagnation Increment: If you reach the maximum of your pay scale, you can get up to 3 stagnation increments, with one increment given every two years.
